Coaching Boys Into Men Around the World

Building on decades of implementation and evidence in the United States, FUTURES works with governments, international organizations, sports organizations, schools, and community-based partners to adapt and scale CBIM in diverse settings around the world. Internationally, CBIM maintains the program’s evidence-based core while supporting thoughtful contextual adaptation and building local capacity to lead, implement, monitor, and sustain the program.

U.S. vs. International

One Proven Model. Two Pathways to Scale.

CBIM UNITED STATES

FUTURES → CBIM Advocates → Coaches → Athletes

In the United States, FUTURES directly trains CBIM Advocates who bring CBIM into their communities, recruit and train coaches, and support implementation.

CBIM INTERNATIONAL

FUTURES → Trains, Supports & Certifies Certified Trainers → CBIM Advocates / Implementing Partners → Coaches → Athletes

Internationally, FUTURES develops, supports, and certifies Certified Trainers through a structured process that combines orientation, an intensive 5-day Certified Training of Trainers, demonstrated training of implementing partners, ongoing supportive supervision, and observation of implementation and monitoring. Certified Trainers then train and support CBIM Advocates / Coaches Clinic Facilitators and implementing organizations, who prepare and support coaches to deliver CBIM with athletes.

Steps Towards Building the Next Level of CBIM International Leadership

CBIM Certified Trainers are practitioners who earn Certified Trainer status through a structured international certification process led and supported by FUTURES. Formerly referred to as Certified Master Trainers, Certified Trainers build the capacity of organizations implementing CBIM within a country or region and serve as an important bridge between FUTURES and local implementation. Certification combines intensive training, demonstrated ability to train implementing partners, biweekly supportive supervision, and observation of implementation and monitoring.
